When I was living in Cameron Highlands, I complained a lot about hot weather in Ipoh. Whenever I had to go to Ipoh with hubby, I felt annoyed. I hated to go to Ipoh.

But people change, you know. After moving back to hubby’s home town in Ipoh, I am so used to the hot weather now.

It’s actually good to be hot. It makes you perspire, thus eliminate toxins from your body. Due to cool climate in Cameron Highlands, I didn’t sweat very often. As a result, it’s very sick for me to fall sick.

Besides, I am no longer in teaching line. Yes, I am very happy and relieved that I don’t have to make a living from teaching. I am more happy being an internet marketer now.

Building niche blogs and stores promoting credit cards, travel insurance policies, home mortgages, baby gifts, pink stuffs, unique gifts, cheap bargains, family gift ideas and endless niche products is more fun and interesting.

My hubby was born in Ipoh, Perak. Perak is also called the Silver State. The state’s Kinta Valley is synonymous to tin mining in Malaysia.

How does Perak look like ? Have you watched the Hollywood movie ‘Anna and the King’, starring Jodie Foster and Chow Yun Fatt? This movie was filmed extensively here in Ipoh. You may have seen the beauty of the state in the movie.

You can find some open tin mines or areas left behind by the long history of mining used for agricultural activities such as vegetable and fruit farming, fish and poultry industries and oil palm plantations.

As there are open tin mines in Ipoh, fishing has been a great pastime here for local folks. Isn’t it healthier than gambling ?

Whenever these local folks gather at the coffee shops, you will only hear fishing stuffs like fishing tackle, fishing rods, fishing lures or fishing accessories. You will be amazed how well this uneducated local folks can explain to you about fishing world.

My hubby goes down to Ipoh which is about 100km away from Cameron Highlands weekly while I only go there every fortnight as I can’t bear with the hot weather.

Even if I have to go, I always hide myself in shopping centers until the sun sets in the evening. By then, the weather is a bit cool.

I make sure that I go to Ipoh for a purpose. If there is none, sorry, you won’t find me in Ipoh.

When do I make appearance in Ipoh ? When I have run out of office supplies, especially paper & pads, pens and pencils and ink cartridges.

Besides that , I also take the opportunity to buy discounted reference books for my students.

Buying office supplies and reference books in bulk in Ipoh saves me some bucks here and there which can be used on next purchase. Everything in Cameron Highlands is expensive – food, clothes, groceries and accommodation.
