Vacations

It’s difficult to persuade my family members and friends to have their holidays in Cameron Highlands. Whenever my hubby and I invite them to come over during holidays or public holidays, they will decline our invitations. Why ? There are 3 main reasons.

Firstly, they feel bored driving more than 200km from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands. The journey is not only long but also tiring. They have to wind all the way up to Cameron Highlands. Some can’t bear with the winding roads and end up throwing up …;D Some get sick because of the cold climate.

Secondly, the food in Cameron Highlands is not yummy if compared to gourmet in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Ipoh. I am from Kuala Lumpur and have a house in Ipoh. I am now living in Cameron Highlands with my hubby. I am just being honest, ok ? The food is not really delicious. So far, I find only a few dishes at certain restaurants are up to the standard. Others just ..urrgh…;d

Thirdly, there is no entertainment in Cameron Highlands. Besides watching Astro and playing mahjong, there is no karaoke, club or disco. There used to be a karaoke and a club in Cameron Highlands, but they were closed down by the authorities. The young ones of my family members or friends normally end up playing PS, video games or online poker games.

For those who put up with me are lucky because they can have Internet access at my place and look for online casino to have a few games. However, I have to limit their time so that my own work is not interrupted by them.

Just found out that Cameron Highlands Resort belongs to YTL Hotel & Properties. I have seen this resort before but don’t know who the developer is.

Cameron Highlands Resort nestles on lush hill lock fronting a spacious golf course. The interior resembles a genteel English colonial home. If you would like to have a luxury holiday in Cameron Highlands, you may want to consider Cameron Highlands Resort.
Look at this 410 square feet Deluxe room which is furnished with a king four-poster bed or twin beds overlooking the lush green golf course ! The room features a comfortable seating area with French doors opening to the balcony. Standing at the balcony early in the morning in the mid of mist is just haven !

What about de-stressing at the resort’s lovely spa and looking forward to the specially designed treatments based on tea leaves ?

The hotel room rates range between RM700++ for deluxe sizes and goes up to RM2,000 for the Cameron and Jim Thompson suites. For more information, visit www.ytlhotels.com

Holidays on your home turf need not be dull. Make it a point to visit one different state during each holiday and get to know Malaysia better. There are so many exciting places to visit, such as Pulau Perhentian in Terengganu, or Taman Negara in Pahang.

1. Instead of hitting the the malls, go out and enjoy the sunny weather and work up some sweat by hiking, cycling or swimming. Or try camping, go-karting, paintball or bird-watching together.

2. Organize a friendly football match for friends and their kids. Afterwards, have a buffet party.

3. Involve the children in your holiday planning – they may have their own ideas. Build their anticipation by talking about what they’ll see and do at the destination.

4. Try to find a resort which offers various activities that everyone can enjoy – for example, golf for hubby, a spa for you and fun things to do for the kids.

5. If you promise to do something exciting, such as swimming with dolphins, try to make sure it happens. Kids tend to remember if you ‘break’ a promise.

What do you do when you don’t bring enough underwears or briefs for your holidays ? And there aren’t any disposable underwears or briefs sold at the nearest convenient shops.

Try the tip here….;D My hubby and I have tried this many times. After washing the underwears and briefs, we squeeze them until there isn’t any dripping. And then, we place them on top of the hotel table lamp. You know, there are at least 3 to 5 table lamps and bed lamps in the hotel room.

The next day, we have dry underwears and briefs again.

I am still trying to convince my hubby to take up the high pay job offered by his multi-millionaire buddy. I reasoned with him that we not only pay off our credit card debts fast, we also get to make property investments in tourist attractions such as Cameron Highlands and also foreign tourist attractions such as Branson that offers Branson cabins and condos.

Thinking of owning a Branson cabin or a golf-front condo as a second home with no hassle and no timeshare just makes me thrilled. Imagine playing golf with my hubby and his business partners in the mornings ! Wow..what a wonderful life ! Even we do not live in Branson cabin or golf-front condo, we can use it as a vacation home that yields us rental income.

As usual, I bookmarked Branson MO real estate that offers a wide range of real estate choices include golf-front condos, lakefront condos, villas, home sites and log cabins for future vacation or real estate investment purposes.

While reading some travel magazines in The Novel Hut last night, I came across some fantastic vacation destinations that my hubby and I can consider after paying off our credit cards.

Without hesitation, I bought this travel magazine for future reference. There are more than 20 featured vacations, namely, Orlando vacations, Hawaii vacations, Australia vacations, New Zealand vacations and the list goes on.

I should check with my blogging pal, Doris, on how to apply for Visa to the US. I heard that there is series of procedure and it is quite complicated. I trust that it is more complicated and difficult for Malaysians to apply for Visa after 911 Attacks.

Though my hubby is no longer a tourist guide, our friends and family members still love to get some travel news and updates from him. We have been subscribed to so many travel magazines and websites that we are able to provide them updates of vacations or holiday packages in no time.

Just this morning, a buddy in Kuala Lumpur called to check if we had any Mexico travel guides as he came across some hot deals for the US and Mexico vacation packages. He loved the idea of driving a rental car to Mexico for a few days because he had been told that driving in Mexico is the best way to truly experience Mexico.

I reminded my buddy the biggest safety tip he must not ever forget is to buy Mexican auto insurance. I read from the travel guides that the Mexican authorities do not recognize American or Canadian automobile insurance as valid. The Mexican officials recognize insurance written by admitted Mexican auto insurance companies only.

Take note that a car accident in Mexican law is a felony, and unless a party to an accident can prove financial responsibility, he or she can, and probably will, be jailed for up to three days, until a magistrate determines who is responsible for the accident.

Buying Mexican car insurance from a leading insurance company like MexicanInsuranceStore is very easy. We just have to enter our vehicle information, purchase a policy online and print the legitimate and recognized Mexican auto insurance certificate.

One final reminder to my buddy before he hung up is that he must report any claim in Mexico should there be any accident. Failing to do so subjects the claim to denial by the Mexican auto insurance company.

At last, my hubby and I are back in Cameron Highlands. We spent 4 days and 3 nights in Kuala Lumpur. Initially, our plan was to stay there for 3 days and 2 nights.

Well, the main reason is that my brother-in-law had to be hospitalized for one more night. As a result, my hubby and I had to change our plan.

Can you believe it ?? We didn’t spend any money on shopping this time…;D We just went window shopping in Mid Valley Megamall.

After we checked out this afternoon, we fetched my brother-in-law and went back to Ipoh first. We reached Ipoh at about 6 p.m. Upon reaching home, we were told by my sister-in-law that the drug addict living opposite had been released again from the drug rehab. Arggghh…that means I will see his gang members around whenever I am in Ipoh… again.
