Of course the best answer is anytime, but let’s look at the busiest times of the year. We will also cover the slow periods, where room rates and airfares can be inexpensive, or to put it bluntly, cheap. Let’s face it being cheap can save a lot of money.
The busiest times of the year in Las Vegas are traditionally on holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the big one New Years eve. Right after the holidays every year it’s time for the Super Bowl, this is also and extremely busy time.
If you plan to be in Las Vegas any of these times you need to plan well ahead of time and make your reservations early, or you will be paying a premium price for your trip. (more…)

Family cruise vacations are a wonderful way to engage the whole family in a trip that’s relatively all-inclusive and offers a range of activities that appeal to family members young and old. However, before you depart on your big family cruise vacation, you need to consider a few crucial safety tips.
1. Check Your Ship’s Report Card. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a department called the Vessel Sanitation Program. That program inspects ships on a regular basis for cleanliness, food preparation, hygiene, water control, rodents and disease prevention. Upon inspection, each ship is given a report card that is then made available on the CDC web site. (more…)

Traveling can be fun and exciting if you are heading to a favorite destination. There are also many people who have to travel for business. Whatever your reason for traveling, there are a few things that you should be mindful of in order to keep you safe while away from home.
Transportation. If you are flying, make sure you keep all of your personal items with you at all times. Make sure your luggage is clearly marked and try to collect your luggage as soon as it enters the carousel so that someone else does not take it.
Find out which taxis are safe to travel in by checking with the information desk at the airport or with a police officer. Do not share taxis with people you do not know. Try to avoid public transportation late at night if you are unsure where you are going. Do not hitch hike. (more…)
Toddlers know no bounds, and so it’s no surprise that childhood injuries peak typically around 15 to 18 months of age. Toddlers are curious, natural thrill-seekers, and are typically fearless.
Parents, child care providers, and any caregivers of this aged youngster know that there’s no rest when it comes to supervising a toddler, as life is one big adventure. But, here are some tactics to keep that beloved and active youngster out of harm’s way in the yard.
Be sure to limit access to outside with locks out of reach of a curious tot. Backyard swing sets and play areas are wonderful, but make sure they are safe by having a soft surface underneath.
If your yard is fenced, be sure that is locked as well. Always enclose pools, ponds or hot tubs and put a safety fence between any water source and the house. Keep kiddie pools drained when not in use.
Keep power tools and garden equipment safe and out of reach; the same holds true for insecticides.

There are simply too many tips for women travelers to take heed of in order not to fall prey to snatch thieves, stalkers, or sex perverts.
Do not become a ‘friend of the friendless’. Don’t try and be friendly with almost everybody.
When on a plane, train or bus, a great book and a pair of headphones would make a good privacy fence. Even the chattiest seat mate will get the message that you want to be left alone.
In all probability they are nice people but you never know and we cannot compromise on personal safety.
Tell little white lies when asked “are you alone?” or “is this your first time here?”. Wear a fake wedding ring and always say you are with your “husband”.
Blend in. Don’t wear clothes that make you stand out. The safest clothings are jeans and T-shirts. Stay away from bold colours, logos and definitely anything sexy.
Don’t tell friends you’ve just met, about your holiday plans but don’t keep it a secret from your loved ones back home. It is in your interest to notify at least one person where you’re going, with information on your hotel arrangements, contact numbers.
Use weathered, secondhand backpacks. This way, you look like you’re a seasoned traveller who knows what it’s all about.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Besides the money in your wallet, stash some in your luggage, backpack, travelling/shopping bag or day bag. Bras with removable pads make good hidden pockets. If travelling abroad, get a flat, thin waist wallet for your passport and cash.

Michelle Fleorquin, a Canadian tourist, will definitely have an unforgettable memory for the rest of her life.
After she was warned by a trishaw rider to be careful of snatch thieves during a ride, little did she imagine she would be a victim. Even if she sandwiched her handbag between her legs, her handbag was still snatched by a motorcyclist. Her handbag contained her hand phone, credit cards, money and cruise ship package tickets.
The incident happened along Lebuh Swettenham. A lorry driver saw what happened and knocked into the motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to fall. Before the snatch thief managed to escape, a taxi driver heading in the opposite direction stopped his vehicle and gave chase.
The taxi driver with the help of other several passers-by finally subdued the snatch thief and handed him over to the police.
Whenever my hubby and I are on the road, we always give way to motorcyclists. Their lives are so vulnerable that with a small hit, they will be thrown off their motorcycles. My dad for one was the victim on the road.
He was run over by a truck and dragged for some distance. Yes… he died on the spot. My mom was so sad that it took her many years to get over this. I was too small to remember my dad’s death and funeral.
I was only the accident when I was in secondary school. Mom said that it was still dawn when dad rode his motorcycle to work. The truck driver was later confirmed to be under the influence of alcohol and hit my dad.
We were grateful that some friends introduced a personal injury lawyer like the Omaha Personal Injury Lawyer that helped to maximize the financial compensation our family would need to recover in wrongful death litigation.
