Hubby suggested that we drive all the way up to the highlands and have our lunch at her niece’s furniture shop.

He would like to see if she has any new stocks for teak furniture. He would like to add a few pieces of teak deep seating armchairs for our bedrooms and guest room. I told him to look for oversized teak armchairs with matching cushions so that guests feel more comfortable.

As for teak benches, try to get those 6-foot-long benches. Not to forget stacking teak chairs that save space.

Hubby has decided to make two platform beds on his own. I mean the extremely simple platform beds that have no headboard or footboard, and certainly no canopy.

The platform beds are built for the new mattresses we ordered last week. Hubby doesn’t want to build platform beds with headboards, footboards, canopies, even extra flourishes and storage units. He finds it complex and troublesome.

According to my neighbor, there is a power supply repair tomorrow. I don’t know how long it will last, so I had better finish all my posts night.

Tomorrow, I am going to spend my time redecorating my guest room so that my family or friends will have a comfortable yet functional space that helps them feel right at home. There are 5 tips from luxury hotels that add special touch at home in an affordable way.

I am like Sweetpea who likes to give away books, clothes,toys and household items that we no longer use to the poor or some charitable organizations. I normally donate these unused items to Tzu Chi in Ipoh, Malaysia.

How do I make sure that they will not be used in future ? Who knows one day we may need these items again ? Yeah.. I know we all like to tell ourselves this…;D

A very simple method that I have been using,yet it is very effective !

Firstly, pack them into boxes. Next, seal the boxes. Then, use a marker pen and write the date which is 1/2 year away. Let’s say today is 30 May,right ? You write 31 December 2007. Lastly, put the boxes aside.

Once it is 31 December, get that boxes out and send them to charitable organizations.

Never Never Ever Open The Boxes !!!! Do you hear me ? Never Open Them ! If you open, die liao !…;D

Why ? You will hear yourself saying,” I might wear this”,”This may be useful”,”I should try to use it again”…..blah..blah…blah…and you end up keeping them in your house. Trust me ! Later, they will just be accumulating dust again in your house.

I have been applying this method to get rid of unwanted items in my house so that I have better and more convincing reason to do more shopping…;D

I used to hate seeing piles and piles of mails in my mailbox. Why ? Because the mails were mostly warning notices sent by banks stating that if they failed to receive my payments within 7 days, I would receive penalty charges sent by their lawyers…;P

Yap… it happened quite often before I started my debt reduction. After half year of trying to make credit card payments on time, I seldom see those warning mails in my mailbox now.

As hubby and I are moving back to Ipoh in 2 months, we have to spring clean our house. I think we have to change our mailbox as well. Our plastic mailbox which can’t withstand the harsh weather has already broken. (more…)

Hubby’s new job will bring us back to our own home. Yap.. we are leaving the highlands with temperature ranges from 15C to 25C soon, hopefully by the end of January 2008.

There are still many timber made English cottages and lodges in Cameron Highlands, mainly as accommodation for holidayers or tourists.
