I guess a lot of vacationers tend to gain weight after their vacations. Who can resist pizza, torte verdure, bruschetta, crostini and spaghetti when holidaying in Italy? Or Pecan Pie and Mississippi-Mud Pie, as well as Cajun and Creole cuisine in the US?

I can’t resist the temptation of authentic food. I will eat and eat when I am on vacation. But once I am back, I will do everything to lose weight. Taking diet pills, doing exercise, having body massage treatments, to name a few.

During your Italy vacation you will find that wine is very important to the country. It has some of the oldest vineyards in the world and some of the best wines are produced here.

About 20% of wine in the world is produced in Italy. While you are on your Italy vacation you will find that wine is drunk with every meal and sometimes in-between meals.

It will be offered to you almost everywhere you go because grapes are grown all over Italy and wine is made by everyone from the villagers to the large commercial wineries. It is said that there are one million vineyards in Italy! (more…)

Whenever hubby and I travel to Kuala Lumpur or other states, we try to eat well but save money on food at the same time.

1. Does the hotel include breakfast in the rate? If so, eat as much as we can comfortably consume.

2. If breakfast at the hotel is extra, visit a bakery instead. This gives us the chance to sample local specialties and spend very little.

3. Breakfast can break the budget if we insist on eggs and ham in places where pastry is the norm. Adjust eating habits to destination habits.

4. If we’ve had a big breakfast at the hotel, lunch can be a snack that will cost a few dollars. Again, sample a local specialty. If breakfast was pastry, consider assembling a picnic lunch purchased at a deli or market. Bread, cheese and fresh fruit make a filling lunch for a fraction of the restaurant costs.

5. Opt for counter or “take away” service.

By following the above steps, we are able to eat several “splurge” meals within budget.

A blogging pal and her family are going to Hawaii for month during the year end school holiday. I wonder if she has checked out konakavafarm.com which is famous for its Kava products, especially Organic Vegan Chocolate.

I am a cocoa lover too besides being a tea addict …;D I don’t think I will let go any chance to try different country’s cocoa products. I read reviews about this completely organic, vegan chocolate which is made with pure cocoa beans, soy lecithin and organic cane juice earlier.

Kona Kava Farm has an unmatched variety of organic Kava products because they are the growers as well as the suppliers.

In addition to being a safe herbal supplement, Kava may be able to reduce stress, add enjoyment, and increase your overall sense of well-being.

Yippie.. it’s Friday again..;D I have lined up some activities for both my hubby and me.

As usual, we will go for our morning walk. And then, enjoy our breakfast at one of our favorite stalls. Nasi lemak is no doubt my choice again. Nasi Lemak is one of Malaysian yummy food that tourists shouldn’t miss. It is a must-try national dish of Malaysia.

I am easily contented by just a simple packet of Nasi Lemak which costs $0.60 ! Of course, this plate of Nasi Lemak doesn’t cost $0.60, dear …;D Nasi Lemak is cooked in coconut milk, with pandan leaves and even ginger or a stalk of lemon grass.

Nasi Lemak is available on almost every street corner and in most every local-themed restaurant, served with everything from chicken to beef to cuttlefish.

In surveys, eating ranks as one of our favorite pastimes. It’s relatively pleasant activity and it satisfies a basic need. but if you aren’t focused on it, you won’t enjoy as much.

This is why the French enjoy their food more. They can take up to 2 hours for their meals. They are less likely to eat alone and they are less likely to be doing something else at the same time.

I love having muffins for my tea break. They are cheap yet delicious. OK…honestly, I am noy fussy when it comes to food. Whenever I am asked to give comments on food, I will say, “fine”, “I love it”… all good comments.

My hubby’s buddy enjoys eating and is very fussy. He is honest when he finds that the food is tasteless. For me, he is too fussy. If food that most people consider delicious or fine is brushed off as not tasty , then I think he is just too fussy. It is going to be difficult to satisfy his taste buds.

I managed to finish most of my pending tasks this morning, therefore I took 3 hours’ break and went jungle trekking with my hubby in Tanah Rata.

Prior to that, we had our brunch at our favorite food stall. As usual, I ordered ‘Nasi Lemak’ while my hubby ordered ‘Mixed Rice’. I was so forgetful ! I forgot to take my digital along to snap some food photos for this food stall. Next time, I must remember ! This food stall is famous in Tanah Rata. I will introduce to you so that when you come for your holidays in Cameron Highlands, you will give the food here a try.

My hubby is still down with cold, so we won’t be able to go out for dinner tonight. While packing for our lunch this afternoon, I ordered another packet of Roasted Pork Rice for myself. My hubby will have to be contended with his bread and muffins….;D

I should have taken some photos for the Chicken Rice just now, but I forgot…:D I am still new at snapping photos, right ?
