New Year’s Eve is time to sing “Auld Lang Syne.” When the clock strikes at 12 midnight, people in most speaking countries will sing this song to usher in the new year.
In case you have not sung Auld Lang Syne for some time, don’t worry. I have Auld Lang Syne’s lyrics.
I am not from an English speaking country and have not sung the song for many many years, so I went in search of the lyrics after I completed cleaning some industrial clamps stored in the garage this afternoon.
Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
And here’s a hand, my trusty friend
And gie’s a hand o’ thine
We’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
