My best friend hasn’t shopped in months. She didn’t bat an eyelid when I showed her the first sale ads of custom headlights for her Cadillac. She barely glanced at the “Sale” signs when the boutiques had their season markdowns.
It’s not that she has suddenly developed an aversion to shopping; she loves it as much as she always has. But the sad fact is, with an ever growing pregnancy bump, she has been feeling too sloth-like to scour the shops for any length of time – she is like a slow-moving vehicle all the other cars have to zip impatiently around.
So, she has basically stayed away from the malls. And she’s come to the stage where she is suffering from serious shopping withdrawal symptoms.
